Cheerleader Packet Instructions/Rules
2010 Charleston Sertoma Football Classic
Instructions Please check your packet for the following:
1. Tickets: Please count your tickets after receiving them. Compare the number of tickets yon received with the number written on the "Ticket Collection Sheet". Make sure they are the same.
2. Ticket Sales Collection Sheet: This is to be completed and turned in with the ticket proceeds prior to your team’s game. Bring all proceeds and unsold tickets to the game. Ask a Sertoma member for the turn-in location. If paying by check make it payable to: Sertoma Charities. If paying by cash, please band the paper money according to value(1’s,5’s 10’s all together , etc.)
3. Team Pairing.
4. Spirit Competition Rules.
This year’s tickets cost $12.00 if purchased at the ticket sales booth on the day of the game. You must turn in $10.00 per ticket. Your team keeps the rest!
As a sales incentive to encourage people to buy their tickets early, please remind everyone that:
They are getting their ticket at a discounted price!
They are helping to support local charities!
It’s a great way to show your school spirit
They are helping their school to earn money!
Remember: Your participation in this event allow us to help many local charities. Every high school that participates also receives a check from us!!
EACH TICKET SOLD IS A DONATION! THERE ARE NO REFUNDS.

2010 SCHOOL SPIRIT AWARD POINT SYSTEM:
Ticket Sales (1-525 points )
Dress (1-50 points)
Schools will be judged on uniformity, neatness, and school colors. Special emphasis will be placed on the display of school colors. Please wear your school cheerleader’s uniform for this event.
Banner (1-50 points)
**Schools will be judged on size, originality, quality. Please do not put them in the end zone.
USE OF MASKING TAPE IS ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED. 50 points will be deducted from your score if your team uses tape
Performance (1-400 points). Schools will be judged as follows:
Booster/Spirit Groups 1-100 points
Organization 1-100 points
Originality 1-100 points
Variety 1-100 points
Help us Advertise the Classic ( 0-75 points).
Let your friends, family, and classmates know the Classic is coming!
Take a picture of the cheerleaders inside or outside of your school in front of a sign advertising the dates and location of the classic. Advertise the Classic at your School! 25 points Advertise the Classic on the School’s Website! 25 points

A school with 0 to 350 students must sell
200 for 100 points.
201 to 299 for 200 points.
300 to 399 for 250 points.
400 to 549 for 300 points.
A school with 351 to 899 students must sell
300 for 100 points.
301 to 399 for 200 points.
400 to 449 for 250 points.
450 to 549 for 300 points.
A school with 900 to 1499 students must sell
400 for 100 points.
401 to 499 for 200 points.
500 to 549 for 250 points.
550 to 649 for 300 points.
A school with 1500 or more students must sell
650 to 749 for 100 points.
750 to 849 for 200 points.
850 to 899 for 250 points.
900 to 999 for 300 points.
Schools can earn Bonus points
10% above quota = 50 bonus points
25% above quota = 100 bonus points
50% above quota = 150 bonus points
75% above quota = 225 bonus points
All money brought in will be the property of Sertoma Charities. Your team is responsible for safeguarding your tickets and for returning all unsold tickets the night of your game.
If possible, please pay by checks made out to Sertoma Charities.

Do’s and Don’ts
On the Day of your Game: Do try to arrive as a group. Please use the gates at the South East Entrance.
DO have a member or representative of your squad at the Classic when Spirit Awards are given at the end of each night and when the Spirit Award is given on Friday night.
DO encourage all cheerleaders, students and supporters to wear school colors. Remind them to do so when you sell them their ticket. That includes band members, drum majors or majorettes, honor guard, and color guard.
DO involve the student body when organizing your activities for the Classic and encourage the students to show their support and enthusiasm.
DO be creative with banners, pennants, and signs bearing school related messages relevant to the game.
DO use the space in the stadium that has been reserved for your school. Don’t use someone else’s space.
DO put emphasis on originality, organization and precision rather than on size.
DON'T use masking tape to attach anything to the stadium. (50 point penalty)
DON'T use obscenities on any banners, pennants or signs.
DO make arrangements to remove all signs, banners and pennants after the game.
Do show good sportsmanship. DON'T deface, remove, cover- up, etc., any other school's banners, posters, or signs. The Classic is a team effort to raise money for our community.
